Walk & Talk Therapy is counselling that takes place outdoors while walking side-by-side with your therapist. It offers the same confidential, supportive space as traditional counselling, with the added benefits of gentle movement and time spent in nature.
For some people, walking creates a more natural and relaxed environment to reflect, talk and explore what is going on in their lives.
Everyone experiences therapy differently. Some people find that being outdoors and walking together feels less intense than sitting face-to-face in a therapy room.

We will meet at an agreed location and walk at a comfortable pace while exploring whatever you would like to bring. There is no pressure to keep walking, talk constantly, or cover a certain distance. We can pause, slow down, take in our surroundings, or sit if appropriate.

The distance depends on your comfort, mobility and the route chosen. Walk & Talk Therapy is not exercise or a fitness session — the walking simply provides the setting for the therapeutic work.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, including supportive footwear, waterproofs, and layers where needed.
Sessions usually continue in a range of weather conditions, provided it is safe and comfortable to do so. If necessary, we can adjust the route, shorten the walk, or discuss alternative arrangements.
Yes. Confidentiality remains central to the work.
As sessions take place outdoors, there is a small possibility of encountering other people. We will discuss ways to maintain your privacy, including choosing suitable routes and agreeing how we would respond if we see someone you know.
Difficult emotions are a normal part of therapy. If you become upset, we can pause, slow down, or take time to process what is happening. You do not need to manage difficult feelings alone.
Walk & Talk Therapy can be helpful for many people, but it is not the right approach for everyone. Some people prefer the privacy and structure of an indoor setting. We can discuss what feels most suitable for you during an initial conversation.
